Generics progress

Sales in generics grew 16.2% to €1,746 million in 2011. The threshold of €1 billion was crossed for the first time in emerging countries, which now account for two-thirds of total sales. Sanofi’s current generics strategy is to continue expanding on the South American market with Medley, while also developing Zentiva to create a unique brand in Europe. In generics as in other areas, Sanofi aims at proposing a large range of products that respond to real patient’s needs.
